Welcome to L'Antica Loggia
Porta Palazzo, the Palazzo Marchesale and the town of torrone: the history we live every day.

Porta Palazzo
In the heart of the medieval village of San Marco dei Cavoti, our property stands in a place steeped in history and charm: Porta Palazzo, one of the four ancient gates that once enclosed the town. This gate, an integral part of Palazzo Marchesale, is a symbol of San Marco dei Cavoti's historic heritage.

The Palazzo Marchesale
Palazzo Marchesale, built in the 17th century, was the residence of the Cavaniglia-Caracciolo marquises, lords of the fiefdom until the early 19th century. Today this historic building is home to L'Antica Loggia, a welcoming guest house that keeps the charm of the past intact.

The nougat town
San Marco dei Cavoti, founded around 1350 by a colony of Provençals from Gap, in the south of France, is also known as "the nougat town". The first artisan nougat workshop was founded in 1891, starting a long history of excellence celebrated every year at the Torrone and Croccantino Festival.

A curious anecdote
It's said that in Palazzo Marchesale itself, during a lavish dinner held in the 18th century for a visiting marquis, a dessert of almonds and honey was served that, according to local legend, inspired the future creation of croccantino. Today our restaurant aims to be a bridge between past and present.
“Our story is made of hospitality, tradition and genuine bonds: a place where every guest feels at home.”
